EDN/EPX is a protein produced by and secreted from the human eosinophil granulocyte. The main known function of EDN/EPX is that of an RNase and in this regard it may be active in the anti-viral defence. EDN/EPX may be measured in urine or blood as a reflection the turnover and/or activity of the eosinophil population in the body.
